Summary of Inspections at Wickham Laboratories
The Company is assessed under the United Kingdom Good Laboratory Practice Compliance Programme and has been approved since 1988.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA - previously the MCA), the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) make assessments for compliance with the principles and guidelines of cGMP with respect to contract analysis of human and veterinary pharmaceuticals.
The Company has been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for a range of microbiological tests applicable to foods, feeding stuffs and environmental swabs. The test methods are listed in the schedule of testing, available upon request. Annual surveillance inspections are made for compliance with ISO 17025 and any extensions to the scope of the accreditation. Re-assessments visits are made on a four yearly cycle.
The laboratory is registered under the Animal By-Products Order by DEFRA. This is for the microbiological assessment of animal feeds both meat and vegetable derived. Inspections are made on a biennial basis.
As part of the Voluntary GCP inspection program the MHRA GCP Compliance Unit inspected the systems and procedures used by Wickham Laboratories to conduct and report Clinical Trial laboratory analysis.
